A Place to Share our Love

If you have found this blog then you already know that our dear Marcy has had a stroke and is in the ICU at the University of Utah Hospital. First, we want you to know that although Marcy's situation is very serious, she is also doing remarkably well--she is Marcy afterall! Her stroke has somewhat affected her speech, so she is struggling at times to find words and Mark reports that she is still confused at times (but in really funny ways). The great news is that her motor skills seem to be unaffected. She is awake, alert, talking, and worrying about her children's Halloween costumes.

As her friends and family, we have simply been inundated with calls and emails--it has been deeply moving to see how many people love Marcy, Mark and their children and are desperate to know how Marcy's doing and what they can do to help. The only problem is that so many people are calling, that we haven't been able to get back to everyone. So, we have created this blog as a way of communicating with all of those who love Marcy.

First, we hope that you will take a moment and write a quick note to Marcy, Mark and the kids. You can do this by clicking on the comments link. Second, if you'd like to help or have any questions, then please email us at welovemarcy@gmail.com. Several of us will be checking that email account often and will get back to you as soon as we can. We don't want to tell you not to call Mark, but he has been a bit overwhelmed with phone calls. Third, we will post updates as often as we can on Marcy's condition, so check back often. Finally, please help us get the word around about the blog so that all who love Marcy can stay in contact with her!

There are no words to express the amount of love we have for you! There would be no possible way to tell you how deeply you have touched our lives. So, we will just say we love you and pray for you, and will be by your side on every step of your journey back to health.

Marcy, hearing that you were in the hospital was like a punch to the gut. How could something bad happen to OUR Marcy, the women who conquers the world? We just know that you'll pull through this with grace and a broad smile on your face. After all, you know how to juggle soccer practice, and scouts, and dance class, and homework while cooking dinner and making sure the laundry gets done. You're a super hero. Maybe it's time we take care of you. Get better. We love you!! The Birches (Kate, Bryan, Morgan, Noah and Rebecca)

Love from the Mason's....

Marcy you'll be happy to know that we all got up early enough to get ready for school eat and even walk there with time to spare. Let's hope I can do that again tomorrow. As I watched all of them walk infront of me to school I was bummed I didn't have them in matching outfits. I don't think they cared but I didn't want to let you down. Ron thinks we could totally do 7 kids!!! Probably because they have been so wonderful to have in our home. They are having so much fun playing and doing their homework with no problems. Going to bed is even quiet, it's 9:30 and not a peep. I just checked on Hannah and Edie and they are both lying next to each other on the trundle bed reading-so cute! We just love your family and just want you well. Everyone is doing great and they should all have their halloween costumes by friday! Don't you worry, and maybe I'll even try to dress them alike by the end of the week. Love you, Ellen, Ron and gang!

Marcy - WOW! What an incredible scare and ordeal to have to comprehend and go through! My heart goes out to you and your family. You have definately surrounded yourself with some remarkable friends that are amazing in organizing and making things happen. I told Amy I am happy to do whatever I can now and later to help. I will watch your blog and wait to hear how I can assist. In the meantime, you are in my thoughts and wishing you all the best care possible as you work through this difficult journey.

Hi Marcy (and Mark),
Man, what life does not throw in our paths sometimes. We were obviously very upset to hear the news of your stroke. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and to your family. Elder Butler is also sending his prayers from Santiago.
We KNOW without a shadow of a doubt the Lord is with you and will continue to be with you through this trial.
We, along with many others, love you and your family and will be there when needed.
Get well, stay positive, and come home soon.

Love ya,

Cory & LeAnn

Marcy,

As we gathered for our family prayer on Monday, the last day of our UEA family vacation, we asked our 8 year-old daughter to say the prayer and to ask Heavenly Father to bless Sister Jenkins.

Our children weren't quite sure they knew who you were until we explained that we liked to buy your cakes at the Cub Scout cake auction. Then they knew!

As we knelt in our hotel room, Dana asked Heavenly Father to bless "Mrs. Jenkins" with health and strength. As we finished the prayer I received a clear witness that our plea was heard by our loving Father in Heaven and that He will watch over you and your family.

Love,

President and Deanna Mortensen, Madelyn, Grace, and Dana
